A full time position with 37.5 hours per week, however these hours are totally flexible and dependant on the needs of the business. The hours worked across a week should be agile and whilst some of your time will need to spent dealing with teams who do work a 9-5.30 day – your time will also be organised in a way that allows you to react to content scenarios as they happen. The role will be based between our offices and homeworking.
Reporting to the NI Content Director
Our team is responsible for delivering content to NI’s biggest radio audience each week complimented with an exciting and ever expanding off air online offering.
We look after scheduling music, supporting our market leading presentation team while interacting with some of the world’s biggest stars and bringing our community the important information it needs, when they needs it.
We are an incredibly focused team, working closely with our commercial colleagues and listeners, ensuring that we are always delivering the highest quality output both on air and online.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the Bauer NI Digital Team.
Living and breathing all things ‘local’ will be paramount in this role and you will be responsible for creating cutting edge multiplatform content with an emphasis on Northern Ireland originating content.
In addition your finger will be firmly on the pulse of all the latest lifestyle, music trends, gigs and celebrity news and your multi-platform awareness will be at the forefront of all your strategic planning and decision-making.
Our digital platforms are an absolutely crucial compliment to our market leading on air content. As a Digital Content Editor, you will help devise and deliver a compelling and creative digital strategy.
What you will do:
You will have a deep understanding of the local market and be experienced in creating compelling, shareable, on-brand content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube, as well as engaging online digital content.
You will be accomplished at driving engagement and page impressions via digital platforms and have an eye and ear for a great story in this space.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Digital content across all 3 Northern Ireland brands, Downtown Radio, Cool FM and Downtown Country.
- Creating compelling social media content including video, graphics from design to delivery.

- Providing insights using Key Performance Indicators for third party and our own channels using analytics tools.
- Creating, writing and producing legally sound copy and content.
You’ll have a real passion for the brands you’re working for alongside a healthy obsession with popular culture, news / current affairs, music, lifestyle and you understand what everyone is watching, talking about and cares about right now in Northern Ireland.
You care about what’s relevant and essential for our broad audience within our 3 NI brands. From pop culture to social action, you appreciate the scale of our target audience and live by a right content, right platform, right time mentality.
Agility and flexibility will be key in this role, having the ability to react quickly around the clock as things happen underpins the audience expectation from the 24/7 nature of a radio station.
